Meet our NEW "Pretty Girl of the Week" Fennella Like Whoa!
Fennella Like Whoa is a Sierra Leonean model, blogger and creative entrepreneur. Growing up in an African household Like Whoa was inspired by the style expertise and fashion knowledge of her African parents. As a teen she became deeply interested in the cultural and spiritual meaning of clothing and began to apply those principles to her style and aesthetic. She uses fashion, arts and media as a way to communicate and convey positive messages that uplift her generation.
Like Whoa pursued various creative and entrepreneurial projects while in her undergraduate career such as opening her first online store, blogging, starting a jewelry line, modeling, turning her freshman dorm room into a boutique and more. Upon graduating she decided to start Echelon Twelve, a fashion organization with a strong emphasis on service, training and leadership in order to establish her legacy. The organization currently serves the prestigious campuses of Spelman College, Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University.
Like Whoa has been featured in VOGUE UK and also had a full page spread dedicated to her in Elle South Africa. She has been attending New York Fashion week annually and recently attended her first Paris Fashion Week.
In terms of entrepreneurial endeavors Like Whoa has launched a successful wig line called "Like Whoa Wigs" that has been featured in Buzzfeed, Afropunk and more!
Like Whoa is making impact through her brands by utilizing her God-given creative gifts and media expertise. In the future Like Whoa plans to pursue creative entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors internationally by honing her gifts in fashion, media, writing and entrepreneurship. She seeks to engage and enthrall her audience by being an example of a positive creative lifestyle to all generations.
When asked "What is one thing you would tell a young woman about self love, self knowledge etc?"
Fennella says: "Ultimately I would tell them to love themselves, to know themselves and to be themselves."
